Located in the western part of Lake Ontario, this place is for those who enjoy leisurely activities where they can explore a place in peace – and away from the pandemonium of the city. Gorgeous, landscaped gardens; pristine beaches; and plenty of walking and cycling trails are some of its key attractions. You can opt for a boat ride too, and soak in the beautiful view of the Toronto skyline from the lake.
‘Architectural wonder’ has become a clichéd term to describe beautifully created structures but the award-winning CN Tower does complete justice to this term. Standing tall at a height of 553 metres, you can get a view of the city from three levels, with the highest being Skypod. If you’re feeling particularly brave, try the EdgeWalk, where you will be tethered to an overhead rail system and can walk on and around the tower’s main pod at 356 metres! It is the world’s highest full-circle, hands-free walk.
From the best brands in retail to the finest restaurants and a host of entertainment activities on offer, CN Tower is an entertainment destination like none other.
Toronto is home to Canada’s largest indoor aquarium, which houses over 16,000 aquatic animals. Walking through the tunnels with sharks swimming overhead and around is a great experience, and is sure to delight children. With a host of activities, which include an in-water Stingray experience, there’s a lot to do (and learn) in this magnificent aquarium.
If you like your lager, it’s time to see and appreciate how it’s made. This brewery offers hourly visits of its production line and throws in plenty of sampling sessions too. So it’s possible that you’ll emerge from the tour a little high (on life we hope!). Don’t leave without some of the interesting souvenirs on offer to help you remember your trip here after you return to the daily grind.
A panda eating shoots and leaves might be one of the cutest things to see in a picture or as a meme on Facebook, but it’s still not as adorable as seeing it in plain sight. The zoo is home to over 5,000 animals and there’s plenty of space to walk around and interact with them. Do check out the award-winning Gorilla Rainforest.
In addition to these top 5, other attractions worth visiting when you’re in and around Toronto include the St Lawrence Market, The Toronto Public Library, Hockey Hall of Fame, Edwards Gardens and the Aga Khan Museum.
