Brentford's cool, friendly watering hole.

Was on my Saturday afternoon 7km walk. Dropped in for a beer. Friendly, helpful staff. The waterfront bar is a great place to chillout and just watch West London pass by. Brentwood lock and Goat's wharf is nearby. Snacks, coffee, beer are all reasonably priced.

Pleasant stay but beware hidden costs

First thing to point out is there is a hidden charge - £14 per night for parking. This may be mentioned somewhere on the website but it’s certainly not clear. I can’t understand why hotels charge guests for parking, and if they must, why not add it to the booking form so it doesn’t come as a nasty surprise? This drained me of any goodwill after checking in but there is also a lot to recommend about this hotel. We stayed in an executive room which was extremely clean, spacious and with good facilities - shower was excellent although a smart TV would have been nice. Service was very good in the evening with attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast was good but the times are misleading. It states 6.30 - 10 which to my mind means you should be able to have breakfast any time until 10am. However at the stroke of 10 they began to clear away the breakfast, which means you need to be there by 9.45. The staff member at breakfast looked rather annoyed when I asked for some bread a couple of minutes after 10 as she had already cleared it away, although we had been there since 9.45 but had been waiting for the bacon which had run out! Good location with great views of the canal; close to Heathrow and trains to central London. Brentford is on your doorstep, which is a nice, undiscovered part of London with plenty of traditional pubs. So there are positives and negatives here, but it’s generally a clean and pleasant place to stay.

Christmas at the Holiday Inn - relaxed and fun

The room was comfortable and there was a beautiful view from the balcony. It’s just the bed was a bit small for us.
All the staff from booking a room (Isaac) and Xmas day lunch (Kane) to all those who welcomed us at the hotel reception, for dining and at the bar (Tareq? and others) were friendly and helpful and made the Christmas experience enjoyable.

Such yummy breakfast! Good location close to bus stop and train station. We had a nice view of the lock. Cosy Christmas vibes. Recommened!

1 night stay in a family room. It was very spacious, clean, comfy beds. Staff were very friendly. Great breakfast options. Would stay at the hotel again.
