ORGANIZATION TO REVIEW
Nothing wrong with the setting: beautiful castle both outdoors with a huge well maintained park, and indoors.
After check-in a young man accompanied us to our room on the 3rd floor without asking to carry one of our two travel bags (!). Spacious and beautifully decorated room with beautiful shower room.
But the organization in general is not worthy of its 4 stars: first of all a problem in the booking since 24 hours before our arrival we receive an SMS telling us that the restaurant was sold out although we had paid the New Year's Eve package almost a month earlier and for a not insignificant amount. After two phone conversations the problem was fixed and we had confirmed our arrival at 8:00 pm at the restaurant.
But when we arrived a little before 20:00 no more table available and one of the two women present tells us that having had two people extra he had given them our table!! Totally unacceptable to hear this in an establishment of this level.
And we had to wait about ten minutes standing in the hallway before a side table was unfolded and housed in the middle of the others, even encroaching on the passage of the waiters.
After settling down the glass of champagne on the menu was quickly served to us, but the appetizers arrived so late that we had practically finished our drinks while snacking on the bread that had been deposited as soon as the table was installed.
On the other hand, the MEAL WAS REFINED AND DELICIOUS as well as the WINES that accompanied the dishes.
Too bad this dinner was served on laminated tables without tablecloths that did not fit at all with the historic character of the place.
After a very good night (perfect bedding) we will have breakfast. We meet in a room equipped with tables for 6 or 8 guests. We did not think we came to a guest house! And precisely many of these hosts were already settled and, not knowing each other, they had distanced themselves. And for both of us there were places left but we were separated.
The buffet: again very average and very far from a 4 star. More plates, more glasses, more butter, no mineral water, coffee in plastic jugs .... and as there was no waiter, no staff we had to manage.
This message is very critical but is not intended to denigrate the image of the place.
It is designed to provide homeowners with sources of improvement.
