Le Catalan is a hotel located in Banyuls sur Mer, just 500 metres away from the marina, a 10-minute walk from the village centre and 5-minute from a seaside creek. It offers 2 outdoor swimming pools with breathtaking views of the sea.

It was a last minute booking after the border was closed due to forest fire's. We arrived at the hotel worn out after after a long trip complicated by rail strikes. The rail replacement bus dropped us in a small town with no explanation about the border into Spain being closed. Locals helped us with a taxi firm number and the driver recommended we book a room here. We were greeted by friendly staff who advised us dinner ended in 30 minutes. We were not expecting much after a very long day of travelling. The evening made up for the disruption to our plans. The dinner was one of the best we have ever had. The wine was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. If we are ever in this region again we will stay at this hotel.

The rooms have been newly remodeled and in good condition. However, the internet was not working and the water was just lightly warm, not hot.

Clean and renovated room. Freshly painted but the paint smell was overbearing that we had to Ione the window and patio door during the night as we couldn’t breath.
The staff were excellent (everyone we spoke to were really awesome).
Breakfast in the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean is hard to beat!
