Outstanding

I couldn't disagree more with the last review and should be taken off TripAdvisor as this is just not true.
Sometimes electric gets cut due to some construction but the owners put generator on immediately and do not cut it themshelves. Staff here extremely helpful will sort any problem for you here, including visa, taxi, anything!
As the other reviews state, it's the loveliest place to stay in otres right now and the customer service outstanding with refrigerated towels and welcome drink.
Bar very reasonable price and if money tight you have fridge in room.
So my advise is if you come to otres, spend a little more on your room to get luxury and save money on beer in your room....well, well worth it!!
Stay at lakshmi it's the best way!!

Run down in smelly location

Whilst the owner is friendly, helpful and engaging and the garden is well-laid out, the premises are accessed by unmade roads with partly-demolished/built properties on them and unpleasant odours. Our room had a cement slab in front of the bathroom door- a real trip hazard. There were mosquitoes in the room and no mosquito nets although we were given an aerosol with which to spare it. There is no restaurant at the property and our room was poorly maintained.

Firstly the address of the property was just given as Lakshmi village and was near impossible to find without stopping and asking shopkeepers for help. When we finally arrived the staff were very friendly and nice and took us to a very basic tired looking bungalow. We started to settle in when they returned and said we were in the wrong bungalow and to follow them. The bungalow they gave us was worse than the first with hundreds of dead flies on the floor and in the bathroom sink - the room had clearly not been cleaned in a very long time.

Great bungalows

We had a lovely 8 days spending time at Lakshmi, located in Otres village close to beach and Western St, the staff were excellent (especially Nikki and Tim), rooms clean, well equipped and comfortable, with a nice frontage / small garden to just sit and relax. Lakshmi do their best to insulate guests and try and maintain tranquility amongst the bedlam of Otres construction. If you come to Otres I would recommend Lakshmi - but equally do your research first on Otres changing - so you know what to expect

Ruined my holiday, waste of money, staff didn't care

Stay away from this hotel. This is in a back road where the roads are muddy, dirty and dark. By 5pm, you will have to use a torch to walk through the mud. You have to walk though strong smelling rubbish. There are better hotels that are a 1/3 of the price offering breakfast and on the main road. This was well overpriced considering the staff kept switching off the electrics, water and Wi-Fi and telling us not to use the hot water. We thought we would treat ourselves to a nice hotel for Christmas but turned out to be a nightmare. Never did we get compensated or received an apology. They could clear see we were upset with the other guess but still kept switching the electricity generator off. We kept having the electrics and water switched off when we went toilet and had showers! You couldn't even wash you hands when the water cut off. Then you couldn't stay in the rooms as it got too hot without air conditioning. Awful experience. No tv, no breakfast. There was complaints from us and many others but they still kept switching off the electrics to save money!
Overpriced. Bad customer service. Why we paid alot to have the electrics and Wi-Fi, water continually being turned off is beyond me. Worse hotel I have stayed at in my entire life. The experience ruined our Christmas and we couldn't wait to leave Silhanoukvulle because of it. 2 weeks on from the holiday and my family are still upset with the experience. Save yourself the grief.
