Feel-good break

Cosy rooms, nice spa area, indoor pool with incredibly beautiful mountain views, great cuisine (from breakfast to 4-course dinner in the evening), very nice and soothingly unexcited staff - we always like to come back!

Overall a disappointing experience and not recommended.

We were very disappointed with the Elixhauser host and cannot recommend the hotel. We booked a junior suite for three nights for around €600/night, but received an accessible room in VERY poor condition, as the pictures show. The bathroom was old and disgusting, the room worn out and dirty. In the bathroom you didn't even like to touch the yellowed shower curtain. The exposed pipes, the large inspection flap and the loose toilet were more reminiscent of bad horror films than a 4s-star house. Cracks in the walls, a loose safe and ancient/stinking pillows gave you the rest in the sleeping area. Neither the disabled room nor its miserable condition was mentioned at the time of booking nor at check-in. After direct complaint of the defects and the room we were put off at the receptionist, a solution was not offered. There has also been no response to our requests via Booking.com and email to date. Next to the room, the wellness/spa area is old and partly outdated. A shower for the entire area, which then does not even work properly, is not possible. The breakfast buffet was average and the service overwhelmed. No fresh fruit says much. Overall a disappointing experience and not recommended.

Top on every level! Luxury, relaxation, culture … everything included in a family owned business. Unique architecture, style, and cuisine.
Room with a spectacular view on the Alpes by Salzburg.
Same on the Spa level on top.
Superb dinner and perfectly organised cultural events such as the New Years Concert in Salzburg included ( tickets and shuttle service included )

Perfect!

It is the second time I have stayed and I feel very "at home" here. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the food fabulous and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. I haven't used the Spa facilities yet but I did fit in a swim last time and hope to find time for the full experience at some point. I'm looking forward to staying with you again soon!

From catastrophe to joy – a wonderful hotel

We ended up at this hotel by accident two years ago after British Airways bumped our flight and left us stranded in Salzburg. What started as a catastrophe ended as pure joy - this hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Austria. It’s worth the money alone, simply for a moment in the swimming pool overlooking spectacular snow kissed Alps – one of the best views I’ve ever seen in my life. The rooms are fantastic service wonderful and it really is just a hop skip and a jump in the centre of Salzburg and the airport. Our main thankmust go to British Airways for leaving us stranded in Austria and giving us the opportunity to experience this wonderful hotel..
