Exceeded expectations

Definitely was a great stay. I got in a little late and ran into some user error issues. I originally thought that the door locks weren’t working but come to find out, when I tried to use both smart keys at once it was creating an issue. I went to the front desk and explained the situation and the clerk changed my rooms without hesitation. I tried to do the same thing with using both keys at once and the door wouldn’t open, which at this point was when I found out that I was the problem. I then went back to the desk and asked for the original room back, due to where it was situated and the clerked switched the room back.
After the door issue and finally in the room, I then discovered that the thermostat in the room wasn’t working. Rather than going back and asked for the room swap, I asked for maintenance to come in the next morning to check it out. By the time I made it back to the room the next evening, the thermostat was fixed.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The pool was very clean and the water was warm. I was in the pool for hours and had it to myself. The hotel is in close proximity to great places to eat and it in walking distance to the Texas Tech stadium. All in all, it was a great experience.

Reservations , hmmm

I reserved two beds in a room way in advance and even check in and called last minute to tell me only had queen beds available and offered no compensation for that inconvenience. I could cancel and all area hotels were full or take what they had.

Solid Breakfast - nice room - soft, springy bed

Breakfast was very good though not exceptional. Definitely not the best hotel breakfast I've ever had (as others have claimed) but there was some french toast that was probably pre-made. The hashbrowns were nice. Sausage was a little overcooked or shriveled - bacon is harder to make, but easier to make better. Hot oatmeal available.
You really sink into the bed if you like that - it was a little noisy getting in and out.
Loved my one-bedroom suite - Kitchen though no plate, separate living room with a THIRD TV. Plenty of space if you are there for a few days and a microwave and midi-fridge.

Overall good experience. Room smelled like sweat and ac was not working. Lock on bathroom door didn’t work.

The mattress was like sleeping on a slab- beyond firm - could not get comfortable- even my husband who prefers a firm mattress complained about it being very hard and uncomfortable. Then the room they put us in was right across from a bar on New Year’s Eve - and the hotel was far from full- if you stay there - request to be on the south east side - not the north west unless you want to be up until 3 am with all the party crowd. We should have thought about it - but we didn’t when we went to bed after welcoming the new year at midnight- but had to listen to loud Music, screaming, and revving engines for a couple of hours
