Birthday stay and shopping
I took my wife up to Glasgow for a birthday treat and shopping,we Stayed for the first time at this beautiful hotel what a lovely place close to city centre , we had room 420 corner view was nice and big good views from full size floor to ceiling windows ,full size iron board and really good iron proper hair dryer, we had dinner in the restaurant the food was out standing, lobster Thermidor crockets to start and share save room for dessert,fillet steak for the wife's mains I had loin of venison very nice for dessert I had sticky fig pudding and toffee sauce outstanding the wife had creme brulee and the plate was dressed to say happy birthday lovely touch a bottle of Rosie for the wife I had a nice red fabulous service retired to the lounge for a few night caps ,the next morning we were blown away by breakfast loads of choices if you wanted continental or full Scottish breakfast was great will be back again again for sure, many thanks to front of house manager Ellie who helped us see you again thanks Gary and Judy room 420

Wonderful hotel, Outstanding staff!
We were in Glasgow for a convention, and wanted to be near the center of the city but with easy connections to other venues, such as the convention center. We have had good luck with the AC chain, so decided on this hotel. It was an outstanding choice.
The hotel is in the center of town, but only a couple blocks from the intercity rail line stop and also near the subway system so we were able to take advantage of the special convention pass for the subway system.
The hotel is modern, but has great views and is near a park. (We noticed that many of the statues wore traffic cones as headgear (see pictures) and when we asked we were told this was a rather typical example of the Glasgow dry sense of humor.)
The hotel had a restaurant that also served as a breakfast location. The breakfasts were plentiful, nutritious, and tasty. We also tried the restaurant (quite good) and had light midday snacks.
The view from the room was nice, of imposing buildings and some shops at street level. the beds were comfortable and there was no traffic noise that interfered with our sleep.
I would say the best part of our stay was the staff. They were pleasant and friendly, and extremely helpful. They provided directions and made suggestions of things to see in the center city, and went out of their way (quite literally) to help us. Two examples: From Glasgow we planned to travel to Edinburgh to see the Royal Tattoo, and my past experiences with military tattoos was that we should be prepared for rain, and since umbrellas are usually not permitted at Tattoos (they block the view for other onlookers) that indicated we should try to find disposable transparent ponchos to take with us. We had looked around the shopping areas but couldn't find any, so I asked at the hotel desk where we could get some, and the staff said to check back with them in about a half hour, and when we did the lady at the reception desk had two for us, at no charge.
The other example occurred when we checked out. As I mentioned earlier, we were going to Edinburgh for the Tattoo and intended to take the train. We noticed the train station about three long blocks from the hotel, and since both of us are elderly we asked at the desk about getting a cab to the station. The lady at the reception desk said we shouldn't waste our money since it was only a few blocks, but I explained we had two suitcases and weren't sure if we could make it to the station. "Nonsense." she replied, "I'll get someone to watch the desk and help you with the suitcases," and she did just that. As I recall, her name was Elsie, and she took one of the suitcases, I took the other, and she walked us to the train station, found out where our train departed from, and made sure we were on it. What outstanding service and concern for her guests!

Great stay
Great hotel. Very nice inside in the rooms, restaurant and food. Got an upgraded room with view. Was only there one night, but was absolutely great. Well done. Loved the rooms bathroom, bar, open wardrobe and location. Good price during week too.
