Great base for some good cycling
The rooms are compact so we spent any free time there on the patio
The cafe is homely and does straightforward meals
Bikes are available for hire and the mechanic is friendly and helpful
The cycle path is wonderful
Ovvera- about 500metre UPHILL has all you need when touring

Hotel Only
We were asked to send the time of arrival as the reception was not manned 24hrs.
On arrival at 11pm no one there and had to ring to get manager.
Room
It was spotless, adequate but had to chase for soap n t-rolls.
Could never find anyone!

We had to wait with the taxi to pay n leave.

Good location for doing Via Verde but rooms and the restaurant need improvements

Beware of this Hotel from 1st October
However, when we arrived at about 5pm on Mon evening it was deserted. All doors were locked up and the place looked dead. Luckily I had a contact number with me for the Hotel so I phoned that and after a confusing conversation in Spanish (I don t speak Spanish - lol) guy turned up 10 minutes later in a van. No apology or warm welcome , just got us to sign in the book and then showed us our room. He then left in his van !! We were all alone. No one else at all in the building. Room very basic but was clean and did hve nice towels.
But everything closed up , no bar, no staff, no where nice to sit, Patio chairs stacked away, pretty garden planters shoved under nearby trailers. No hot water in bathroom and no kettle or cups so could not get a drink on premises. We were not staying there for cycling but all hire places next to Hotel looked closed up too. Very, very disappointing.
Room did have a view but nothing to exclaim about, though we were at the back of Hotel, View at front looked much better - over Olvera.
Hotel obviously closes at end of Sept and really they should not continue to take bookings after that. Well,certainly not at Hotel price anyway.
I contacted Booking.com who I had booked through and they were absolutely excellent and sorted it all out for us, ie a full refund and we packed our bags and left!!
So my advice - Don t go to this Hotel out of main season.
