Just let down on one issue,.. otherwise perfect

This is one of the most pleasant stays in the last month in NZ but with one issue! Slightly dated hotel but very well maintained and clean. Efforts to modernize the rooms give a pleasant feel. Staff overall were excellent with a genuine friendly manner, not false like with many large chain hotels. Food was good, restaurant pleasant. Only one issue with the stay. The fire alarm went off at 1am with the hotel, quite rightly, fully evacuated for 30+ minutes and fire brigade turning up. Turned out that the alarm panel was faulty according to staff. As this was not the fault of a guest and down to the hotel, I expected at least some sort of mention the next morning or at check out. But nothing.... No note under the door as I have experienced elsewhere in similar circumstances, no apology at check out even when it was mentioned by us. An apology and even some sort of small credit for breakfast or a coffee might help to soften the inconvenience which was fairly dramatic on a one night stay... Just a thought?

Quiet room and nice bed. Perfect location. Excellt staff!
Average age was very high on guest.. so no really party in the bar.

Good choice.

Liked this hotel, lovely staff, easy walk into town, comfy bed (not hard). Really enjoyed sauna/hot tub. Moved rooms as had been given smaller bed and right by the exit door, easily managed. Had a second floor pool view which was nice. My only negative was of Blenheim itself which has a massive seagull problem - hundreds of them, very noisy and bird poo everywhere. They really need to address it, spoils the town.

Great sauna and lovely pool!

Our family of three enjoyed a comfortable stay at Scenic Hotel Marlborough. Easy walking distance to the city center. We requested connected rooms and ours ended up being a handicapped room with two heavy doors between the two rooms which was not what we anticipated, but it was OK. We really did love the sauna and pool, a beautiful view of the stars from the pool.

A little treasure of a hotel.

One of the smaller more intimate hotels we have stopped in on our tour of NZ but none the less enjoyable . The hotel was clean and fresh . The staff very helpful and friendly..Blenheim was a delight to walk around. Plenty of independent shops and restaurants and a lovely park kept so well
