Recommended. Central location. good breakfast
Very centrally located in Luxembourg City. Location overall quiet and ideal for sightseeing. Small but clean and well heated rooms.

Basic hotel with fantastic location
Hotel Français is located in the heart of the upper city and therefore super central to all sights. Very nice if you want to go back to your room in between to drop some stuff or grab a coat. The hotel itself is clean but pretty basic. For example, there is plenty of bread and filling choice at breakfast but lacks egg and bacon, for example. Also, the space is very tight, if someone takes coffee, you already have to wait to get to the siege. Also the room has everything you expect, but the beds are mediocre. We had a room at the back, the window looked out onto a wall. The big disappointment was really se bathroom. Although clean, the extraction remained continuously on with a lot of noise (even at night and after turning off the lights) and the shower is literally 60x60cm so you can hardly move. Water turns blazing hot and freezing cold, not fine. Since Luxembourg is generally a bit more expensive, we would appreciate value for money as ok, especially because of its excellent location.

Hotel in the heart of it all
Superbly located hotel with restaurants, shops, sights, and transport hub all around. Excellent breakfast offerings included fresh fruits in a spacious dining room. Bedroom was large with a sitting area. The shower cubicle in the bathroom was tiny. Entrance to the hotel was through a restaurant. I reserved the room through HotelSlash.com. Although the reservation was fine, details about my contact information that the hotel had were all incorrect, perplexing both the manager and me.
I highly recommend this hotel - it is also extremely easy to get to from the main railway or bus station by tram and to the airport by bus. As we know public transport in Luxembourg is free and also of very high quality. The hotel is in a pedestrian only zone - no motor vehicles!

Bring ear plugs
We stayed 4 days here. The hotel is centrally located, rooms are small but serviceable, and the breakfast buffet is excellent with a variety of options. They do have aircon in case it gets hot.. the main drawback is the noise. We were unfortunately in rooms facing the square and friday/Saturday nights the reverses went till 3 am. We dug out our noise canceling headphones to be able to get any sleep
As others have noted, there are many great shops and restraunts nearby, and the price is reasona le the the area. Just be 0repared to battle the noise

Good place to eat in the center
Excellent place to eat.
Good menu and good products.
A highlight is the smoked pork stew served with typical Luxembourg broad beans. The steps are also very good.
Very friendly service.
