Rip-off! Misleading!

In our case, the pictures online had nothing to do with reality. We paid €239 per night for a supposedly superior room on the ground floor, which was dirty, run down and just plain awful. After we complained several times, we were allowed to move to a standard room. The money for the "superior" room was still kept.
The price-performance ratio is absolutely not right.

AVOID

Truly horrible. I arrived with my elderly parents (who arrived after a long trip from the US...), only a guard to check us in and the room they gave us was up a narrow staircase at the end of a dark hallway, with the bathroom at the BOTTOM of the stairs. We asked if they had another room, but the guard had zero idea. We left immediately, as we weren't informed that a room up a staircase would be possible. Spoke with them the next day, and were refused a refund, as they claimed we didn't inform them that my parents were handicapped (they're NOT). Stay away.

Terrible

Terrible, could hear every noise in the room next door, even their extra romantic activities …would not recommend if you want a good nights sleep The food in the restaurant was great! The reception staff were friendly.

Basic room for 100 euro

Stayed a few days midweek to sample Hamburg. Nearby stephensplatz U bahn and also S bahn. Situated second floor of a large building, a small lift is available. COVID measures require mask wearing in common areas during winter 2023. Staff polite and available till late. Reasonable bed with a double mattress. No tea of coffee making facilities, now charged at either 2.50 or 4.50 presumably by the reception. In room 2, TV was mounted such that it was unwatchable from the bed! No problem with noise if the windows are shut. Good full length curtains. Bathroom small, moderately clean. Didn't take the 9 euro breakfast. Probably would try another hotel if I returned as nothing that memorable to entice me back.
