spacious room, decent sleep

room was spacious, and bathroom was ok, you can have a decent sleep. The only minus would be because I had to wait for the check in at 3pm, though I had a notion that there were empty rooms. But you encounter a machine in which you need to check in, and check out, so I had to call the staff to help me since I had to pay in cache.
The location is fine, not far from train which takes you to the Dortmund main station, as well as not far away from bus which takes you to the airport.
For some reason my apple laptop had a problem to sign into wifi.

Felt like I was staying in the backrooms with how white everything was and how many stairs and corridors there were to navigate. No lift for luggage. The self check in was nice at least. Wifi didn’t work. Pointless having a TV in the room with apps on it when they didn’t check if it’s connected to the internet to use any of it. Can’t airplay cast to TV either. Mattress had holes. Room stank of farts when we entered it and the odor never disappeared after hours of keeping windows open in this cold weather. All the budget of these rooms went to the bathroom which was moderately spacious and well designed. Location is nice being close to the airport. They didn’t respond to my message a week prior on hotels.com enquiring about price matching a cheaper bigger room they had going which they had several of. Girlfriend approval 2/10. I don’t intend to ever come back here.

Much underrated in the ratings

Stayed there only one night, in a weekend when Dortmund was invaded by Pokemon hunters, and we vere sincerely discouraged by the negative comments by previous guests.
In fact l didn’t find such negative aspects, it is true some smell f smoke in the common room, but only upon arrival.... for the rest, a clean, comfortable accommodation, good choice for breakfast, clean... of the hotel staff and personnel we only saw a nice, silent old man, looked like a factotum... finally, an accommodation l can recommend.

good value and reasonable access to Dortmund

a fairly small hotel whose staff were very accommodating.
They did not take any of the credit or debit cards we had so be prepared to pay cash but they trusted us until departure to get the money organised which was a nice gesture
Also we arrived late but they still provided an excellent steak , despite the late hour.The rooms were fairly small but adequate and clean.
They also do not speak very much English but this was not really a problem as we managed to get understood and to understand them with a little effort.
If traveling to Dortmund there is an excellent tram service which runs every ten minutes or so just a short (ten minutes max) walk from the hotel,which takes about twenty minutes to get to Central station for about 3 euros.
I understand it is convenient for the airport but we arrived by train so have no first hand knowledge of this

Value for money

Friendly staff, good food and simple accomodation. Breakfast and evening meals provided . Conveniently located near to the airport and next to railway line to city centre, a short hop on a train. Handy if you're visiting the football stadium.
