Spent two nights at Hotel Jadran. Walked the steps uphill to Trsat Castle. Walked back down close to 600 steps to the city marina. Walked about the market place and pedestrianized commercial zones. Hotel Jadran has its own access to the Adriatic's Kvarner Bay and a public beach just up the shore. Hotel Jadran has a 3rd floor restaurant/breakfast area with a balcony overlooking the bay. You can see the islands in the bay. Free parking is available at the 4th floor reception level. Fitness center and sauna available too. Very nice place.

On the sea

The hotel overlooks the sea. I had a single room (clean, large enough) on the 5th floor with sea view balcony. Beautiful. Breakfast buffet very rich and varied, with several tables on the terrace overlooking the sea. Saturday and Sunday the buffet is open until 11. In front of the hotel is a platform for jumping into the sea. At the end of June the water was already warm and seemed very clean. A wonder for those who do not like crowded beaches. Swimming (or walking), in a south-east direction, you reach the beach Sablićevo, with a bar. The hotel staff is nice but not intrusive, just like I like it. The city center can be reached by bus in 10' or on foot in 25'. Fair prices (I paid about 135 € per night). I will return.

Beautiful location with dramatic perch next to the sea. A picturesque public beach was a 5 minute walk. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Not much else in the area but staff were able to order a quick and inexpensive taxi to the downtown.

The price in relation to the just funtional furniture of the room and the location is unfair. Also the pictures of the hotel access to sea are not fair,
The hotel is directly on the sea side but there is no real access for swimming. And it is directly beside the container harbour, so you have the noise of loading the containerships with all the beeping of the machines all day and night.
The staff at the reception and breakfast room are outstanding friendly and competent - therefore her 5 stars.Brreakfast is also nice buffet. Everything is tidy and clean.
But the the pics with sun umbrellas and a little "beach platform" are not as it was. Just beton ....
